In 2012, I started working for ANBL in Fredericton after moving there from my hometown of Balmoral NB. Within a few months I had secured a permanent position and now my career has brought me to Vaughan Harvey as Product Advisor.

As a Product Advisor, my focus is customer service, with a specialization in product (knowledge) pairings. ANBL sets us up for success with many accredited courses that are recognized worldwide, for instance the WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust). As part of training, we attend many events, festivals and tastings throughout the province. This training allows us to recommend products for any occasion you may have – whether it’s a wedding, a special gift or simply the right wine to accompany your meal.

With spring right around the corner, I wanted to take this opportunity to mention a couple of my favourite white wines from Atlantic Canada:

Jost Northumberland Shore L’Acadie Blanc ($19.99) – these grapes are grown right here in Cap Pelé NB. Crisp and refreshing grapefruit, with lime and apple notes and exceptional minerality. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it! A perfect pairing for shellfish (not that we eat much seafood around these parts!)

Benjamin Bridge Nova 7 ($25.49) – this one blew me away when I first tried it. A light pink frizzante that is incredibly aromatic, it has complex layers that fills your mouth with flavors of tart cherry, mango and star fruit. Excellent for a gift or special occasion…as long as they open it while I’m there! This wine, along with others from Benjamin Bridge, is outstanding and gaining worldwide attention.
