2 oz Tide & Boar Herbie’s
Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout
1 oz Woodford Reserve Bourbon
1 Egg white
1 oz Vanilla lactose syrup
Make the vanilla syrup: Mix 1 cup of lactose sugar with 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add one pod of fresh vanilla bean seeds. Let steep and then chill.
Chad uses an Imperial Stout he brewed then aged for 9 months in a Woodford Reserve barrel. Substitute with another imperial stout, if desired.
Add beer to a mixing glass, stir with a bar spoon for about 20 seconds to remove any carbonation. Add the remaining ingredients and shake for about 40 shakes. Add ice and shake again, strain and serve in a chilled double old fashioned glass with one large ice cube.
