N.B. beer lover creates

new limited-edition beer

hen Innis & Gunn challenged Canadians to come up with a new limited-edition beer, thousands of flavour ideas poured in. But in the end, only one beer could win. Don Guimond, from Grand Bay- Westfield, won with his Black IPA with Coconut and Rhubarb. The beer will be sold across Canada as “Don’s Choice” and will be in ANBL stores this fall.

“For a craft beer lover, this is unbelievably exciting,” said Guimond. “Innis & Gunn produces some of the most flavourful beers I’ve ever tried. I’m still wrapping my head around the idea that their next flavour idea is mine.” Don’s Choice was shortlisted from more than a thousand submissions by Dougal Gunn Sharp, Founder and Master Brewer at Innis & Gunn. The final decision, however, was made by the Canadian public – Guimond’s beer was selected over seven other finalists in a public vote.

Last January, Don travelled to the Innis & Gunn Brewery in Scotland to brew his beer with Dougal and his brewing team. “I think it’s fair to say that a Black IPA with Coconut and Rhubarb will be an incredible addition to our family of beers” said Gunn Sharp.
