Growing beer tastes, one pour at a time

here can you choose from a line up of unique beers, sample the ones you are unsure of, and pour a bottle fresh from the keg to take home and enjoy? Welcome to the Growler concept.

Bianca Brophy is the buyer for the beer department at ANBL. She seeks out products for the Growler Stations that are unique, quality products that New Brunswickers are looking for. “Growlers have exploded in popularity in the past few years” she said. “I talk to beer lovers all the time who have collections of growler bottles from their favourite breweries, or as souvenirs from their travels.” But while collecting cool bottles is fun, it’s all about the experience, she says. “Learning and tasting new beer styles has never been easier, and it’s zero risk! The age-old adage of “try it before you buy it” sums up this experience perfectly.”

Most products offered at the Growler stations in ANBL stores are products that are not available as packaged product. “These are unique beers that are available for a very limited time – when the tap runs out, they’re gone” said Brophy. “They include a diverse range of products, some of which are highly accoladed and very limited in availability. Having the Growler Stations in stores gives ANBL the opportunity to offer these products for our customers in a way that we wouldn’t be able to otherwise.”

The products on tap change every week. ANBL is constantly featuring new, fresh beers for customers to try. These are great finds. And oftentimes, you can only experience it at ANBL, and you can only find it on tap.
